Project Information:

The Pipe Dream Project was launched on May 3, 2009 as an open source project dedicated to building a working and useful magnetic motor-generator that could be replicated by anyone possessing basic knowledge, skills, and abilities, and with a minimum of tools.  Project builder's plans are extensively documented with easy to understand and follow instructions and photos, and are freely available to all.  Everything is thoroughly covered and explained, leaving nothing to the reader's imagination other than perhaps the great many uses that this apparatus can be put to.  Please see the links at left for further information concerning the builder's plans and other aspects of this project.  Thank you for your interest, and I hope that you will join us in this international quest for clean, renewable energy, and energy independence.

The Pipe Dream Project philosophy: 

It is my belief that this technology is sorely needed by mankind.  By offering the complete plans for this inexpensive and easy to build apparatus free of charge, it is my hope that a great many enthusiastic fellow experimenters and researchers will step forward and join the effort to succeed.  By starting with the same design, materials, and magnets, and sharing the results of our individual research and development work, we can move ahead rapidly, avoid wasteful duplications of work showing negative results, and confirm the positive results reported by others.  Remember that, with a common build, what works for one will work for all.

What's  New:

The Pipe Dream prototype is currently undergoing modifications to eliminate the tracking system and utilize repulsive magnetic interactions to move the slider carriage and stator.  Please see the official Pipe Dream discussion forum (click Discussions tab at left side of page) for an explanation and latest updates regarding the technique that will be employed.

Several replications have now been built by members who have joined the effort to move this project forward, and an increasingly large number of people are watching the progress with keen interest.  Please see the Archive page for available file downloads, including complete step-by-step builder's instructions (updated frequently) and a new Interactive Data Form which replicators and experimenters can use to report their build specifications and test results to the Pipe Dream Project.  All data received will be freely shared on this website.
